Reliable Energy Source for Livestock Feed
Barley is a cornerstone of compound feed across the Middle East and North Africa — valued for its high metabolisable energy, palatability and digestibility. Russian feed barley, grown on the dry steppes of the Volga and Southern districts, is known for its uniform kernel size and low moisture, which keeps it stable through long voyages and storage.
We export standard feed grade under GOST 28672-90. For brewers and distillers, we also source selected 2-row malting barley with germination ≥95% and protein in the 10.5%–11.5% window. Specify your end-use and we will match the right lot.
- Uniform kernel size — easy to mill and ration
- Low moisture (≤13%) resists mould in transit
- Available in Panamax (≈60,000 MT) and Supramax cargoes
- Malting grade optional for breweries

How We Ship Feed Barley
Bulk for feed mills, bags for inland distribution.
Bulk in Hold
Loose grain in vessel hold — the most economical format for large feed-mill buyers. 3,000–60,000 MT per shipment.
50 kg PP Bags
Woven PP bags on pallets or slings. Ideal for feed traders distributing to farms inland, especially Afghanistan and inland Iran.
1 MT Big-Bags
FIBC big-bags with inner liner. Simplifies handling where silo infrastructure is limited. Stackable on flat transport.
Feed Barley — Common Questions
What is feed barley mainly used for?
Feed barley is used in compound feed for cattle, sheep, poultry and aquaculture as a high-energy ingredient. It is also malted for brewing and distilled for spirits. Our export specification targets feed use, with malting-grade available on contract.
What vessel sizes can you load?
We load Handysize (3,000–10,000 MT), Supramax (up to ~60,000 MT) and Panamax (~60,000 MT) vessels at Novorossiysk, Taman and Azov. Tell us your freight preference and we'll nominate a suitable vessel and laycan.
Do you ship feed barley to Iran and Afghanistan?
Yes. For Iran we deliver via the Caspian Sea (Astrakhan to Iranian Caspian ports) and via Bandar Abbas. For Afghanistan, we use overland routes via Iran and Central Asian corridors, with DAP terms available.
How is payment handled?
Settlement is via digital-asset escrow. Funds are locked at contract signing and released automatically against the shipping documents (B/L, phytosanitary, certificate of origin, SGS inspection). No bank L/C required.
