Feed Protein from Russian Oilseed Crushing
Sunflower meal is the protein by-product of Russian oilseed crushing. MOSTAGRO sells it to livestock and poultry feed plants — not as a food pulse. The published protein range is 30–36%. Standard export pellets sit at 32–34%. Dehulled meal is 35–36% when the poultry or aqua formula needs the higher band. Oil is 1.5–3%. Moisture is ≤10%. Those figures are the same as the pulses and meal hub; we do not advertise a tighter protein or a lower oil on this page.
Form is pellets or cake. Pellets are what most compound-feed importers take: they handle in bulk or bags, they meter in a mill, and they survive a sea voyage better than loose cake. Cake is quoted when the mill can intake it. Name the form on the contract. A feed desk that already buys milling wheat or corn can add meal on a related Black Sea stem when the formula needs oilseed protein.
This is not yellow peas and not lentils. Food-grade pulses stay on yellow peas, lentils and Kabuli chickpeas. Meal is a crush by-product with a feed inspection pack: SGS (or named surveyor), phytosanitary where required, then escrow against shipping documents. Loading is typically FOB Novorossiysk, with CIF when you name the discharge port.

How We Ship Sunflower Meal
Bulk pellets for mill intake; bags and big-bags where there is no silo.
Bulk in Hold
Pelleted meal loaded loose for large feed stems. Typical Black Sea load is FOB Novorossiysk. CIF when you name the discharge port.
50 kg PP Bags
Woven bags for mills that intake without bulk handling. Palletised or in slings for container or breakbulk.
1 MT Big-Bags
FIBC for inland feed plants and overland DAP into Afghanistan via Iran. Easier offload than hold cargo where there is no silo.
Sunflower Meal on the Same Corridors as Grain
Turkish compound-feed plants are the nearest Black Sea offtake. A CIF Mersin or Marmara stem is often the fastest way to trial a protein band — see Turkey CIF Mersin. Iranian feed mills use Caspian and Bandar Abbas options on Iran Caspian / Gulf. Egyptian feed traders who already lift grain can add meal via Egypt GASC & mills. Afghanistan takes bagged and big-bag meal overland — DAP Afghanistan.
Feed buyers sometimes ask whether yellow peas can substitute for meal. They are different SKUs. Yellow peas are a pulse for food and feed; sunflower meal is a crush by-product with a 30–36% protein range, oil 1.5–3% and moisture ≤10%. Poultry formulas that need 35–36% should request dehulled, not standard 32–34% pellets.
Grain and meal can share a desk booking: milling wheat for the flour mill, wheat flour for bagged naan programmes, meal for the feed mill. Pulses stay on /products/pulses. Loading documents, SGS and escrow follow the same process as grain.

Sunflower Meal — Common Questions
What protein content is your sunflower meal?
Protein is offered in the 30–36% range. Standard pellets are 32–34%. Dehulled meal is 35–36%. Oil is 1.5–3% and moisture is ≤10%. Name the protein band on the contract. We do not publish a tighter protein than these bands.
Do you ship pellets or cake?
Both. Pellets are the usual export form for compound-feed plants. Cake is available when the mill can intake it. This SKU is a by-product of Russian oilseed crushing, sold for livestock and poultry feed — not as a food pulse.
How is sunflower meal loaded?
Pellets can load bulk in hold at Black Sea ports, typically FOB Novorossiysk, or in 50 kg bags and 1 MT big-bags. CIF is quoted when you name the discharge port. Lots are SGS inspected; settlement is escrow. See FOB Novorossiysk.
