Lentils Built for Packing Lines, Not Farm-Run Mix
MOSTAGRO exports brown (Laird-type) and green lentils as a food-grade SKU, not as a mixed feed pulse. The buyer on the other side of the contract is usually a retail packer, a cannery, or a distributor who reprints 500 g / 1 kg bags. Those plants reject mixed colour and high foreign matter. That is why optical sorting is on the spec card, and why FM is published at ≤1% with moisture ≤14% — the same limits as the pulses hub.
We do not invent a millimetre size band or a protein figure for lentils on this site. What we will confirm on the contract is type (brown Laird-type or green), optical sort, FM ≤1%, moisture ≤14%, packing, and the named load port. If your cannery needs a narrower colour sort or a specific count, write it into the enquiry. We match available origin; we do not advertise a tighter number than the published export grade.
Origin is the Volga and Central Black-Earth pulse belt — the same growing regions as yellow peas and Kabuli chickpeas. Lentils are the slower-moving, higher-care SKU in that family: they travel in bags, not as hold cargo, and they are inspected as a food lot. SGS (or a named surveyor) is standard. Phytosanitary documents travel with the B/L.
Settlement is escrow against shipping documents — the same method used on milling wheat. There is no public USD list price for lentils. A firm figure comes from the desk after you name type, packing, volume and Incoterms. Reply target is 24 hours via /contact.

Where Lentil Packers Take Russian Origin
Turkish retail and cannery buyers are the nearest Black Sea offtake. Price CIF Mersin or Marmara when you want a short transit test lot — details on Turkey CIF Mersin. Iranian importers use Caspian and Bandar Abbas corridors described on Iran Caspian / Gulf. Egyptian food traders who already lift grain can add bagged lentils on a related stem via Egypt GASC & mills. Afghanistan takes bagged and big-bag lentils overland — DAP Afghanistan.
Loading is typically FOB Novorossiysk, with CIF when you name the discharge port. Lentils do not move as loose hold cargo on our published programme: they stay in 25 kg / 50 kg bags or 1 MT big-bags so the packing plant can intake without a silo. That packing also matches the overland Iran–Afghanistan corridor used for wheat flour.
A pulses booking often pairs lentils with yellow peas (whole 7–9 mm or split) and Kabuli chickpeas 8 / 9 / 10 mm. Feed desks looking for protein meal should open sunflower meal instead. Grain desks stay on milling wheat. Overview of the pulse family: /products/pulses.

Lentils — Common Questions
Do you export brown and green lentils?
Yes. We export brown (Laird-type) and green lentils, optically sorted for uniform colour and size. Foreign matter is ≤1% and moisture is ≤14%. Lots are intended for retail packing and canning plants. Name the type on the enquiry — we do not mix brown and green in one food-grade bag lot unless the contract says so.
Are Russian lentils suitable for retail packs and canning?
Yes. Optical sorting is specified because supermarket and cannery buyers reject mixed colour and high FM. We pack 25 kg / 50 kg PP bags, 1 MT big-bags, and private-label retail bags on contract. Print plates and artwork lead time apply to private-label runs.
How do you load lentils from the Black Sea?
Bagged lentils load FOB Novorossiysk or other Black Sea ports, or CIF to the named discharge port. Overland DAP via Iran is used for Afghanistan. Every lot is SGS inspected; settlement is escrow against documents. See FOB Novorossiysk for the load-port route.
