FOB Novorossiysk Load Port for Russian Grain

Novorossiysk is a load port. A buyer who writes CIF Novorossiysk is describing the wrong end of the voyage: the term is FOB Novorossiysk, or CIF followed by the discharge port. That correction is on logistics.

On FOB, the buyer nominates the vessel and arranges ocean freight and insurance. MOSTAGRO delivers the grain over the ship's rail at Novorossiysk, unless the stem is fixed at a sister port. Tuapse and Taman are the usual Black Sea sisters. Azov and Rostov-on-Don are used when draft and lot size fit the Azov basin. The contract names the load port; the ports are not interchangeable after the stem is fixed. The route page states bulk parcels of 3,000–60,000 MT, or bags from 500 MT.

Read FOB Novorossiysk and what FOB leaves with the buyer. Discharge examples are Mersin, Alexandria and Bandar Abbas.
