Bandar Abbas Grain Discharge, Persian Gulf

Bandar Abbas is the southern discharge for Russian grain into Iran. Deep-sea vessels load at Novorossiysk and reach the Persian Gulf via the Bosphorus and Suez. The Iran page describes it as the route for larger stems and full-vessel loads. Wheat, feed barley and non-GMO yellow corn are the grains named on that corridor.

The other route does not use Bandar Abbas. It loads at Astrakhan and discharges at Anzali, Neka or Amirabad. Transit across the Caspian is 2–4 days, and that route avoids the Bosphorus and Suez. Both are on Russian grain to Iran. The Caspian write-up is wheat via the Caspian. Freight for the deep-sea leg is Black Sea–Iran freight history.

This page does not quote a harbour draft or a discharge rate. Those figures are not published on the site.

Is Bandar Abbas the only discharge for Iran?

No. Bandar Abbas is the Persian Gulf discharge for deep-sea vessels. The Caspian route discharges at Anzali, Neka or Amirabad after loading at Astrakhan.
