CFR Grain: Carriage Paid, Insurance Separate

CFR follows CIF on carriage to the named port and leaves insurance out of the MOSTAGRO invoice. The buyer places the insurance and still owns everything the CIF buyer owns after loading: risk from the load port, discharge, import clearance and inland haulage.

The named port is a discharge port, as on CIF. The load port remains Novorossiysk or a sister port fixed in the contract. Send CFR with the port name when you request a quote.

How is CFR different from CIF?

CFR includes carriage to the named discharge port and does not include insurance in the MOSTAGRO invoice. CIF includes that insurance. Risk still passes on loading under both.
